The watch is very beautiful, though the time set dial is a tad touchey; something I’ve already gotten used to after a few days of having it. The watch doesn’t come with an owners manual either. Something I wish it did come with. I’m unsure of how to get inside of the watch and change the battery (doesn’t seem to be clockwork (wind-up) mechanics). I will likely have to take it to a watch smith once the battery dies; Don’t want to risk breaking it. For starters, this thing is absolutely tiny – far from fitting into one’s palm, it’s literally dwarfed by it, as opposed to the large, chunky watch depicted in the show. The watch is ridiculously thin and light, to the extent that it’s about the same weight as the long serpentine chain that protrudes from it. The ‘antique’ finish feels cheap and almost scummy, and instead of a silvery chrome, it’s colored a dull, smoky color that looks like tarnish. Not only that, the clasp on the lid for mine was broken and had to be prodded back into place manually whenever opened, another sign of cheap manufacturing. And then there’s the time-set dials, which are constantly being bumped out of position by whatever move you make. I was fortunate enough to be able to pawn this off to a gullible acquaintence for close to the price I paid for it. Don’t expect to get off that easy if you make the same mistake I did. Save up and purchase a different model – it might be overpriced, but at least it will work. |
