Be careful!

Be careful when purchasing this item. I am not entirely sure about its authenticity and my suspicion is a direct result of the main picture for the item. I have never seen any michael kors watch that has the arrangement of the chronograph as shown. I have attached a second picture of what a rose gold michael kors chronograph (MK5128) should look like. Just be careful and make sure you are getting what you are paying for.

A brief search on amazon for MK5128 shows you this item as one of the matches. I am pretty sure the runway watch is NOT this.

Again, I may be wrong but I’m just giving forewarning. For the price offered here, you may as well go to the real MK store, heck even Macys, and assure you are getting authentic stuff. And a HUGE plus is that they will resize the watch for you at NO cost.

motor problems

This is my 3rd Cuisinart hand mixer in the past 5 years and you’re probably wondering why I went back to this model after the problems with the first two. First, I liked the form and fit. Second, I had extra blades that would fit (after the first one broke). Third, I assumed the problem was a glitch (each time). On the first and last mixers, the motor just quit without any reason or problem that I can determine – it didn’t happen because of “bogging-down” in heavy batter. On my second one, the soft tab speed button tore and water leaked in – it quit working. Also, I don’t think the wire blades “do” mashed potatoes as well as flat blades that actually cut through and break potatoes up into a smoother, less lumpy mix. Another problem that no one else has mentioned is that even though it has a slow start setting, it takes a couple of seconds to kick in! So, initially it starts at a medium speed and flour is all over the counter before it slows down and behaves as advertised. I’ve finally learned to hold it out of the bowl until it gears down.

Cuisinart HM-90BCS

This hand mixer is an upgraded version of the Cuisinart HM-70 Power Advantage 7-Speed Hand Mixer, Stainless and White which is recommended by Cook’s Illustrated. That version, however, does not have dough hooks, which I specifically wanted in a mixer, since there are increasingly more and more recipes out there that assume the baker has a stand mixer these day and it’s not easy to configure all of them to hand kneading. I currently don’t have the budget for a stand mixer so I thought this would be a good compromise.

PROs:

- Quiet. On lower speeds (1 to 5), it makes merely a vibrating noise. Even when I work with particularly stiff doughs, it still doesn’t make a whole lot of sound. This is a giant relief for someone who is upgrading from a Black and Decker model which shrieks horribly on the lowest speed.

- Powerful. I’ve made bread doughs with this machine, some of them quite dense. It always plows through them.

- Wide range of speed. The number 1 speed is significantly lower than number 5 which is significantly lower than number 9. This is good for when you just want to combine ingredients without overmixing or having flour splattering every where. Also, stand mixer recipes that call for, say, “put the mixer on medium-low speed” can be easily adapted to this mixer as opposed to my old one, where all the five speeds are kind of the same.

- Storage case. I appreciate the extra feature that helps me organize all the components.

CONs:

- Dough hooks not very effective. Like I said, I bought this mixer specifically for the dough hooks, and they turned out disappointing. To make them work ideally, you would have to have two sets of hands, one to hold the bowl in place, and one to guide the mixer, imitating the actions of a stand mixer. I’ve managed to knead a number of dough with the hooks, but it does take understanding and knowledge of how the ingredients are combined to make it work. In lieu of fifteen minutes of hand kneading, you would have to run this hand mixer through the dough for fifteen minutes, so no improvement here. It might be helpful for a new baker intimidated by hand kneading, but it is no less difficult or laborious.

- Cord is a little difficult to fold into the storage case. This is a very minor agitation.

Overall, this hand mixer is okay. The Cuisinart HM-70, $20.00 cheaper, may have been a better purchase. If you are looking to buy this mixer for the dough hook feature, I would advise against it.

Best Beaters Ever

These are the best beaters I ever owned. I like the “no splash” start on the number 1 setting and the digital display to advance in increments all the way up to a powerful number 9 setting. Pretty light weight to handle yet very powerful. Does a wonderful job and the self contained see-through storage case is extremely attractive and convenient for storing everything neatly in one place. I highly recommend purchaing this product.

Great watch so far…

Watch arrived today and it looks and feels amazing. I was a little concerned about ordering an Invicta from Amazon based on customers reviews of other Invicta models available for purchase. At least 30% of the reviews I read from other models complained about broken parts, receiving different watches then what is pictured, and watches labeled “Swiss Movement or MVT”(Chinese rip-off) as apposed to the genuine “Swiss Made” movement. But in all honestly they could label it whatever they want and I wont know the difference until it breaks down. So far though the watch looks and functions perfectly.

The watch has a VERY LARGE face so please understand that before you order. It is also a VERY THICK watch, it raises 2 inches off my wrist. I knew all this before I ordered it so I am very pleased. But if you weigh less than 200lbs and have thin wrists you will look like a clown wearing it. This thing can also double as a self defense weapon, if you get in trouble just take it off and beat your assailant with it, its sure heavy enough.

The only negative aspect I can find is when I opened the box the watch was actually running! This is a huge mistake because I dont know how long it has been running so the battery might die in the next 15 minutes or 2 years from now. Most diving watches are pressurized to prevent water from seeping in, so when you replace the battery you need to send it off to be re-pressurized for a fee and its not cheap. It also makes me wonder if it was purchased and then returned for a reason I cant see.

Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat. This watch retails for $995.99 and I got it at a fraction of the price. (The day after I ordered it, amazon raised the price by $50) I’m sure its worth much less than that, but the price I paid is on par for a genuine Swiss made movement. Throw in the fact that if you order the watch from Amazon you get upgraded to the Invicta Platinum 5 year warranty for FREE! ($40 value). Just make sure you register it on Invicta website within 30 days of purchase. The only thing that is left is to see how long the watch will function. I will update my review if it turns out to be a low-quality item that breaks down after a few months, but as of right now I feel fine recommending this time piece to my friends and family. I am a avid watch collector so this will fit nicely in my collection

Invicta men’s watch

I bought this watch as a birthday present for my boyfriend, and he loves it! At first I thought it was way too big and heavy, but he is 6’6″ and it fits him great! He always receives compliments on it wherever we go. I would highly suggest this watch, unless you are really skinny or have a tiny wrist. It is definitely for a bigger guy. All in all, it is a great watch for the price, and I’m glad I chose this one for him!

Looks are elegant and solid.

Ordered it for my wife as a gift for med school. She’s not a watch wearer, but she wanted something that had some style and could take a lil’ water (i.e.-blood) too. This piece is pretty much everything that it states in the description. Very impressed with it, guess I can update this review when she opens it and gives her personal opinion as well.

Alright first off let me say this is my first G-Shock watch. I’m completely blown away with what it can do. The description sums it up, but it did leave out one cool little trick it does, if the setting for it is on it AUTOMATICALLY turns on when you lift your wrist to look at your watch…AWESOME! I think the tilt has to be more than 40 degrees before it automatically turns on. For the money you can’t beat this combo on this watch… I got mine at Kohl’s, when I saw it had to havbe it, even for a couple bucks more… 73.31 total! From now I will always own at least 1 G-Shock!! BUY IT!!!!

Cute!

This RumbaTime watch is cute, lightweight and keeps time perfectly. Please note a few things, first the color. It’s called Peach and in the photo looks sort of like a vanilla, but it’s really more of a light orange. Really nice and colorful. Second thing to note is that this watch is water-resistant, NOT water-proof. So if you wear it while running (and sweating) or doing dishes, it’s fine, but don’t wear it in the shower or swimming. Overall, it’s a fun summer watch. Love mine!

this is a great watch.

i think this watch looks much, much nicer in person than in the picture. i needed a watch for work (baking and waitressing) so i wanted it easy to read, with a timer, hourly alarm, etc. this had all that, and for $15! I will say that the white gets dirty very easily, but that’s not the watch’s fault, that’s my fault. i have fairly small wrists and it is a good size. I don’t think it’s “pretty”, but it does not look cheap. it is exactly what i wanted for my work watch.

one big plus, it came programmed with my local time! one (VERY) big minus, i didn’t get an instruction/warranty(?) book. i actually took off a star for that. i’ve worn it about a week now and yeah, it’s getting dingy, but i don’t really care. i would buy it in a different color (maybe even a couple different colors) if they had it. i will update if anything drastic happens but i expect this thing to tell time for a very long time.

Exactly what I needed.

I can’t wear metals so watches have always caused me problems. This is the first affordable watch I have found where no metal touches my skin. I can now wear it all the time and not have to worry about an allergic reaction.
The watch was easy to set up and is very comfortable to wear.
Delivery was on time and packaged well.
I am very happy with the purchase. I will make comment as time goes by on durability.
I am hoping this will last me awhile but at this stage would purchase another the same to replace.

Great except it came with the wrong time and no manual

I really love this watch. I was expecting BIG, but it is a nice size and I am happy with the velcro strap and color. The BIG problem is that it came with no instructions. HOW DO I CHANGE THE TIME ON THIS THING, or the date, or the day, or anything. I have tried mode and all other buttons, to no avail. I would have given four stars, but am, at the moment, unhappy. But, then, it just came in the mail.

Great watch, looks great, and a good price

This was the 3rd watch I ordered and had to send back, because it just didn’t look the same on my wrist in person. I have an 8-inch wrist, and long arms so it’s hard to find a big watch that looks good, is a decent quality, and a good price. This is the only watch I’ve had that I’ve gotten to like more over time; yet, I really liked it out of the box. It keeps very accurate time, hasn’t scratched, and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments about it. I also bought a leather watch cuff (1 1/2 inch), and the watch itself looks perfect on it. So, I really have two watches depending on what I’m doing. A cool, casual watch either way, but with the original band I’ve worn it with a grey suit, and it looked just fine (which is something most watches couldn’t pull off). I wouldn’t try it in a serious, business suit, though.
